How to Discover your Passion and Purpose

How to Discover your Passion and Purpose

Discovering your Passion and Purpose may be easier than you think. You can’t create it, because it is what you were created to do. Let’s go back to your birth.  When you were born, your parents were open to anything and everything that came your way. You immediately began seeking to find the things in your life that was of special interest to you.  If they gave you something that you did not like, you threw it down immediately.  You could not speak, but you let them know, I don’t like that.  And in your own way of communicating, you said to them, give me something else.  Some things you gravitated to, and other things you did not, you had no interest in them. We began discovering our passion from day #1.  Mom and Dad don’t know it, and you don’t either.  As we continue to mature, we begin to find those comfort levels that says “I am here”. By the time we set , and begin to enjoy them as we choose our life careers. Everyone born has a purpose, so if you find people that tell you they have no purpose, it is because they have not sought to find it.

Many people today make it their mission to go out into the world and seek value and purpose in their lives. The problem is, most of them do not know where to start. Not knowing what your purpose is, can sometime be frustrating, but as you evaluate your gifts and talents and the things that motivates you, you are going in the right direction. Some people find their purpose early in life, and other a bit later.  Whenever it happens, there are a few things you can do to know.

Have you ever looked at an object, and wondered what it was, what it does, or why someone would want it?  Well, every thing created has some kind of purpose or value. This helps us stay focused in finding our true purpose.

The first thing you should do to find your purpose is to develop a relationship with God. Why? Because He created you. Get to know Him and He will give you direction and guidance for your life.  Learn how to talk to God through prayer.  Don’t be shy, just ask Him what His plans are for your life, and believe it when I tell you, that He will reveal it to you if you are listening.

You must be patient, and still to hear Him talk to you.  So, when you are talking to Him, turn off any noise, and avoid distractions. One thing can have more value than the other, but it has a purpose for why it was created.  Nothing creates itself, not even the world you live in, although it was created before you were born. When people realize that they have purpose in life, they are more motivated to stand up and make a difference. Your purpose gives you hope, joy and love for others.  Everyone’s purpose is different, so there is no need to be jealous of someone else’s. Your purpose will influence your behavior, personality and relationships.

Defining Success

Success begins with a Positive Attitude. Life is just better when you look at everything in your life as a Life Lesson, and you look forward to what tomorrow may bring.  Have you notice that each day brings on new experiences. Challenges you experience today, help diminish challenges you face tomorrow.

Defining Your Life Path

Understanding my Life Path

Each day is a new day to define who you are and understanding your purpose for life.  Did you know walking daily with no purpose, leave us feeling empty at the end of our day.  I grew up in a large family with seven siblings. I don’t think I ever felt empty, but that was because I filled it with so many other things like playing outside, walking the dog, talking to my parents and the other siblings in the home. Back in those days, there was always something going on in our tiny little house. Some may say that my Life Path was already laid out for me.  I can agree somewhat that they were correct.  Why? Because it felt right.  It did not drain me mentally or physically.  It was just the way it was suppose to be.

But today, things are different.  We often find that no matter where we are or what we decide to do in out lives, it always follow a particular life pattern. Have you ever stopped and asked yourself why am I doing this?  It took me awhile to realize that so matter how I tried to plan my day ahead of time, it never worked out that way.  Many people discover their purpose in life at a very young age. Other’s on the other hand, find themselves struggling through life wondering what that path might be, and some of us never truly find our path. Most of the time when this happens, it is because we don’t have a desire to discover it. So, why should we care about where our lives takes us? Well, finding our purpose for life helps us understand who we are, and why we do the things we do.  Does it sometime seem like no matter what you do, it is not our passion to do it, maybe we are doing it to please someone else. A great way to begin on that path is to ask ourselves how do we like what we are doing everyday?  It maybe that you work in an outdoor job, but you do not like the outdoors, and vice versa with working on the inside.  What ever your desires may be, you play a leading role in your path.  When we take a job because it pays a little bit more money that another job, but the work that you are doing you absolutely hate. This is a sign that you are working outside of your comfort zone.

I want to share with you my story, and how I for many years knew that I was not finding the things in my life that made me complete.  I kept on searching and searching and the more I challenged myself to do this, and do that, I became more and more frustrated.  It can take years to understand your life path, because there are so many roles that plays in the dynamics to finding your true self.  It starts with you search for your true meaning for why you do what you do.
