There are two choices you can make to lose weight effectively. The First way is to stay active throughout your day and burn off more calories than you take in.
The Second way is to eat just a bit less than you would normally eat, and less than the body may be craving for. You see, the body has no brain, and it does not have control over what we eat. I have found the easiest and most effective way to do this is to put on your plate what you think want to eat. Then, reevaluate what you have put on your plate, and begin taking small portions of that food off your plate in small segments in accordance to the least desirable food to the most desirable food.
You must make a concentrated choice not to focus on food every second of your day. Life has so many things that we can focus on other than eating. Take a moment right now, and think about 3 things that you would like to do today. Right now! Then take another moment and think about 3 things that you need to do today. Right now! And lastly, think about 3 things that you hate doing but to get it off your list of things to do, you will make the decision to do it right now! This will help you tremendously to take your mind off eating. Weight loss is all about those two choices. You can do this!
Do things throughout your day in small segments. When I wake up in the morning, the first thing I do is focus on preparing my face for the day by first using my favorite cleanser that help clean and soften my skin before washing it. Next, I pick up my inspirational book and read for about 20 minutes to get my mind in the right place to start my day in a positive way. I look at my exercise bike and say, “Not today, but maybe tomorrow”. So, instead, I may choose to walk for 30 minutes. This helps to clear my mind and plan for the day ahead. You can do this too. Just replace the strategy I use, with your own strategy. It will work for you too!
The one thing that has helped me the most with my eating was began eating off a smaller plate. Eating from a smaller plate gives you the empression that you are still eating off a full plate, and eating more food. I was amazed how my stomach really did not know the difference. In only a few weeks, I began noticing how making those two weigh loss choices made a difference in me having control over my eating oppose to it having control over me. I now feel comfortable with eating less, and are much more motivated to get up each day and ride my bike, or get an hour in on the treadmill. Somehow I am enjoying it more each day.
Remember, food is not about eating until we are full. It is about eating until we are comfortable.
